PART TIME fRONT OF HOUSE SERVER

We extended Laynes in early 2023 and are now looking to add to our front of house team

We’re looking for someone with experience of working in a similar cafe/restaurant environment who is happy to fit 2 or 3 shifts into their week. Would suit someone already working part time or who is studying.

The role would include, but not be limited to:

  • Taking orders and serving food and drinks to customers dining in with us

  • Having excellent customer service and a genuine interest in the food and drinks we serve at Laynes 

  • Utilising the booking system (resdiary) to efficiently utilise the space and manage customers at point of meet and greet. 

Base pay is the current minimum wage but will see a share of tips/service charge as additional income. This usually works out at around £2.25 per hour extra

Free staff meal and coffee on shift.

Working week will be 2 days over a 7 day period

Weekend availability required though you won’t be required to work every weekend

CHEF DE PARTIE 

Laynes opened in 2011 and set out to be the best espresso bar in the city. Since then we've grown in size to incorporate a kitchen and dining space to allow us to serve some of the best coffee and day-time food around.

THE JOB ROLE

We are looking for a CHEF DE PARTIE who wants prefers to work during the day and is happy to get up in the morning. 

The position will be 5 days over 7 and with 40 hours per week. We are currently a daytime trading place though there’s intention to move into evening service in the near future.

THE CANDIDATE

— Will be supporting and communicating directly with the Head and Sous Chefs as well as the business owner

— A genuine interest in the style of food we serve at Laynes as well as ideas on how we can continue to expand the menu

— Good punctuality and happy to start at 7am week day mornings. Weekend starts are a little later

— Experience in working in a busy restaurant would be great, we get busy

— Present our current dishes as per the direction of the Head Chef 

— Present ideas of new dishes and combinations to the kitchen team

— Be aware of allergens and the importance of them within the restaurant

— Have a good awareness of health and hygiene expectations and laws

Job Type: Full-time & Permanent

Salary: £22500 per annum starting + tips
